Did we ever mention that stairs are one of the biggest obstacles to overcome when replacing carpet with laminate flooring?

Just last week, at a job in South Jordan, UT, we encountered a new situation with carpeted stairs. This time, we discovered that the stair railing were fixed over the carpet and down into the sub-floor.

Here's what it looked like before:

Carpet underneath stair railing to be replaced with laminate flooring

And.... after days of detailed work, here's what is looked like afterwards:

Laminate under stair railing, looks like it was there from the beginning!

The rails will need some new paint towards the bottom, but there's no hint that the flooring has been replaced and used to be carpet!

It looked amazing!

The rest of the house looks great too. The customer chose our 12.3mm Tap&Go Laminate in the color PFM-18 Pradoo Maple.

Many homes in Utah have carpet somewhere, if not all over, the house. As more people are moving away from carpet and towards laminate or luxury vinyl flooring, I am sure we will see more situations like this!
